Fwd: Good Morning, Charles

Untitled document "The Lord bless you and keep you; The
Lord make His face shine upon you, And
be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His
countenance upon you, And give you
peace."'
        ( Numbers 6:24-26 *NKJV )

Dear Charles,
Often we hear someone speaking of "good luck" when
something good happens to them. They even think that
they are creating their own blessings in their lives as well.
How very wrong they are indeed!

    As Christians we know better, for it is written;
Do not be
deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift
and every perfect gift is from above, and comes
down from the Father of lights, with whom there
is no variation or shadow of turning.
                                                (James 1:16-17)

Also God's Blessings are not only given to us in this life,
but in the life to come as well!  Therefore Charles, never
forget the greatest blessing of them all, that being Eternal
Life with God in Heaven!   A blessing that we will receive
through our Lord, Jesus Christ!

So Charles, always give thanks and praise to your
Heavenly Father, and when you pray make sure you are;
Giving thanks always for all things to God the
Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.                               ( Ephesians 5:20 )

Fwd: Good Morning, Charles

NO ONE EVER HAS SEEN GOD; BUT IF WE LOVE
ONE ANOTHER, GOD LIVES IN US, AND HIS LOVE IS
MADE COMPLETE IN US. WE KNOW THAT WE LIVE IN
HIM, AND HE IN US, BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN US OF
HIS SPIRIT.
                   ( 1 JOHN 4:12-13 *NIV )

Dear Charles,
When we open our hearts and invite God into our lives,
a wonderful thing begins to  happen!  The Apostle Paul
stated it this way;
THEREFORE, IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST,
HE IS A NEW CREATION; THE OLD HAS GONE, THE
NEW HAS COME!    ( 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 )

As many of you know, this is when we become the
person that God intended us to be.  It is also when we
become filled with;
THE PEACE OF GOD, WHICH
TRANSCENDS ALL UNDERSTANDING.
( PHILIPPIANS 4:7 )

So Charles, JUST AS YOU RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS
AS LORD, CONTINUE TO LIVE IN HIM, ROOTED AND
BUILT UP IN HIM, STRENGTHENED IN THE FAITH
AS YOU WERE TAUGHT, AND OVERFLOWING IN
THANKFULNESS.               ( COLOSSIANS 2:6 )

Now my friend, may; THE GRACE OF THE LORD JESUS
CHRIST BE WITH YOUR SPIRIT.   Amen.

Gas Conservation Tips

It is important for you to remember that in addition to gas costs, weather dramatically affects natural gas bills.

When temperatures drop, you use more fuel to heat your home and business, and energy conservation becomes very important.

By following a few easy tips, you can save money on your gas bill:

  • Read your gas meter and monitor your gas usage.
  • By reading the meter, you can gauge how fast you are using gas and can make adjustments to stay within budget.
  • Keep a log of your weekly consumption.
  • Adjust your gas usage. For example, if halfway into the month you are nearing your budget limit for gas, you can experiment with lower gas heating thermostat settings to see if comfort is adequate while reducing gas usage.
  • Have your gas furnace cleaned and serviced by a professional for greater efficiency.
  • Clean or replace air filters on heating or cooling systems.
  • Set back your thermostat by 5 or 10 degrees when sleeping or when your house is empty for four hours or longer.
  • Set the thermostat control setting for your furnace no higher than 68 degrees F during the heating season.
  • Set your water heater temperature to 120 degrees F. or to the “warm” setting.
  • Set your water heater temperature control to the pilot position when your home is vacant for two days or longer.
  • Place nonflammable insulation or nonflammable pliable materials in gaps around pipes, ducts, fans or other items that enter the attic or basement from a conditioned space.
  • Close dampers on unused fireplaces. If not used for long periods, add insulating material around perimeter of damper.
  • Add insulation to attic or basement doors or access panels.
  • Caulk or tape any leak in ductwork of cooling or heating systems.
  • Tighten or plug leaking joints in hot water or steam pipes.
  • Raise shades to allow sunlight to enter your home during the day. Close shades on overcast days and at night when no warm sunlight is shining.

Energy Saving Tips

Natural gas can help you save money and the environment when you follow these easy, simple tips.

  • Control your thermostat. Keep it at 68 F during the heating season when you’re at home, but lower it five to 10 degrees when you go to work, leave the house for more than four hours and before you go to bed. Each degree you set the thermostat higher than 68 F uses approximately three percent more energy. A programmable thermostat can do the thinking for you and help save you up to 20 percent on your bill.
  • Get to know your gas meter. Read your meter weekly and monitor your gas usage to stay within your budget. If you’re using too much, experiment with lowering your thermostat settings.
  • Sometimes the easiest things are the easiest to forget, clean or replace your air filters once a month.
  • Water heating accounts for an average of 14 percent of utility bills. Set your water heater to 120 F or to the “warm” setting, no higher. Also, set your water heater temperature control to the pilot position when you leave your house for two days or more.
  • Caulk those windows and weather-strip your doors.
  • Love your furnace. Have it cleaned and serviced every year by an HVAC licensed professional for higher efficiency.
  • Don’t open the oven door until dinner is done. You lose 20 percent of your heat every time you do.
  • Close off heat registers in unused rooms. But don’t shut down more than one-third of the total heat registers – that forces the furnace to cycle more frequently.
  • Fix leaky taps immediately. A hot water drip wastes a full tank of water every week.
  • Protect your pipes and ducts from heat loss. An average older home loses 25 percent of its heat into the attic and crawl spaces. Place nonflammable insulation or nonflammable pliable material in gaps around pipes and ducts in your attic and basement to increase the energy efficiency of your house.

Answer the Door

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"...Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning"
(Psalm 30:5, NKJV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

When you wake up each morning, God sends you a special delivery of joy. It's like it comes knocking at the door of your heart every day. The problem is that some people never answer the door. It's right there, month after month, year after year saying, "Come on! Let me in! You can be happy! You can cheer up! You can enjoy your life!" The way to answer the door is to get up and choose an attitude of faith and expectancy by declaring that "today is going to be a good day." When you start the day like that, you are choosing to receive the gift of joy that God sent to you.

Today, make up your mind to answer the door to joy! Get up every morning and say, "Father, thank You for another beautiful day. I'm going to be happy. I'm going to enjoy this day because You are faithful. I'm going to brighten someone else's life. I am choosing to receive Your gift of joy and passing it on to others because I love You, and I know that I am called for Your purposes!"

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for the gift of joy every single morning. I choose right now to set my focus and heart on You. Help me, by Your Holy Spirit, to put You first each and every day so that I can know Your love and joy in everything I do in Jesus' name. Amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn
us, we have confidence toward God.
And whatever we ask we receive from
Him, because we keep His commandments
and do those things that are pleasing in
His sight.
         ( 1 John 3:21-22 *NKJV )

Dear Charles,
Now would you change the way that you live if you
knew that God knew all of your thoughts, heard all of
your words, and knew all the desires of your heart?  Well
Charles, He does for it is written;
The Lord knows
the thoughts of man That they are futile.
For He also; knows the secrets of the heart. .
        ( Psalms 94:11 ) & ( Psalms 44:21 )

Now when we try our best to have pure thoughts and
desires and follow the Commandments put forth by
God, we often get our prayers answered.  For it is
written;
The effective, fervent prayer of a
righteous man avails much. ( James 5:16 )

So Charles, when you speak be careful of the words you
use, and keep them soft and sweet.  For we are to
always encourage one another and build
each other up,  Most of all, always think before you speak so
that;
The words of my mouth and the meditation
of my heart be acceptable in Your sight O Lord ,
my strength and my Redeemer.
  ( 1 Thessalonians 5:11 )  ( Psalms 19:14 )

Now my friend, have a Great Week and may it be filled with
blessings indeed!   Amen.

Why God Laughs

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"He Who sits in the heavens laughs..."
(Psalm 2:4, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Have you ever imagined God laughing in the heavens? Think about it for a moment. Right now, God is on the throne. He's not mad. He's not worried about the economy. He's not upset with us. No, God is full of joy and laughing on the throne. It goes on to tell us in Psalm 37 that He's laughing because "He can see the destruction of the enemy coming." In other words, the reason God laughs is because He knows the end of the story. He knows the final outcome. The good news is that you and I win. God always causes us to triumph!

Imagine watching the Super Bowl when you already know the outcome. You already know who is going to win. No matter how far behind the winning team falls, no matter how bad it looks for them, you wouldn't get upset. You wouldn't be worried. Why? Because you've got inside information. You know the final outcome. That's what God is saying to us today. When it gets tough and things don't look like they're going to work out, we know that with God we are on the winning team! Today, you can laugh with Him knowing that He has favor, strength and victory in store for your future!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, I choose to rest and trust in You. Thank You for bringing victory in every area of my life. Give me opportunities today to share Your joy and love with the people around me. In Jesus' name, amen.

The Process of
Growing Up

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"You, therefore, must be perfect [growing into complete maturity of godliness in mind and character, having reached the proper height of virtue and integrity], as your heavenly Father is perfect"
(Matthew 5:48, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

One thing I've learned is that just because God puts a dream in our hearts doesn't mean it's going to come to pass without any opposition. See, God is going to grow us up. He's going to mature us. He's going to prepare us to handle the promotion He has in store.

I think about Joseph in the Bible. Starting out, he didn't have a whole lot of wisdom. He was young and immature, and God had to do a work in his life. Joseph probably shouldn't have told his brothers about his dream that they would one day serve him! As you can imagine, his brothers were not nearly as excited about that as he was. Long story short, Joseph had to go through some things to grow up and be ready for the promotion God had in store.

Friend, it's the same way with us today. You may have a dream in your heart that seems a million miles away, but just like Joseph, God can take you from the prison to the palace in one step. During the growing process, keep yourself focused on Him and allow Him to do His work in your life. Keep a humble attitude of faith before Him, and He will lead you and guide you into the destiny He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for working Your process in my life. I want to grow in You so that I can be prepared for the promotion that is in my future. Today, I humbly submit myself to You knowing that You have a good plan in store for me. In Jesus' name, amen.

— Joel & Victoria Osteen

For we brought nothing into this World,
and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
          ( 1 Timothy 6:7 *NKJV )

Dear Charles,
In this World today it is so easy to get caught up trying to
make money, that it can become number one in our lives.  We
may even forget at times how very short our human life is
compared to our Eternal life!
For what is your life? It is
even a vapor that appears for a little time and
then vanishes away.               ( James4:14 )

We also may become easily distracted by those around
us, who are so consumed by the love of money that
they have lost sight of what is most important!   If the truth
be known those people often have very unhappy lives, for it
is written;
For the love of money is a root of all kinds
of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith
in their greediness, and pierced themselves through
with many sorrows.           ( 1 Timothy6:10 )

Now that doesn't mean we should live a life of poverty
at all.  For God wants His Children to prosper, after all
He said;
Be strong and very courageous, that you
may observe to do according to all the law which
Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn
from it to the right hand or to the left, that you
may prosper wherever you go.  ( Joshua 1:7 )

So when others distract you it is important to remember
that as a Child of God you have an even better life ahead of
you!  A life without pain, sorrow, sickness or any other
adversity!  One with the Angels, Arc-Angels and all the
Company of Heaven.  An Eternal life with God and your
loved one's who have already passed before you. So
always;
Set your mind on things above, not on
things on the earth. ( Colossians 3:2 )  For
then you will find true peace and happiness when you do!

 Therefore Charles,
I pray that you may prosper
in all things and be in health, just as your soul
prospers.  Amen.                 ( 3 John 2 )

Fwd: Make your impact go twice as far

.
Make your impact go twice as far
Tell a Friend
Give by September 21 to double your impact

Dear Friend,

As an advocate you understand better than anyone the importance of speaking up for the needs of individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and their families. This month, three different friends of the Association are sending this same message loud and clear. During September, World Alzheimer's Month, these generous donors have given us a great opportunity and have agreed to match , any gift you make to this campaign by September 21 can be doubled, up to $283,000.

That means your gift of $50 can double in value and become $100 and $100 can double to $200. Any amount you give can be worth twice as much!

Each of the three match sponsors have different reasons for supporting the Alzheimer's Association; including advancing research, supporting local chapter programs and honoring a loved one who lived with the disease. But the one thing all three agree on is that we need to do more now to improve the lives of those living with Alzheimer's and provide increased support to their family members and caregivers. These sponsors know that by declaring "The end of Alzheimer's starts with me" they can begin to change the face of this devastating disease.

In the past, you have also demonstrated your commitment to our work through your tireless advocacy efforts. Can we count on you today to make a financial commitment that will double the impact in the fight against Alzheimer's disease? Please join us in the battle against Alzheimer's and give as much as you can to support the estimated 5.4 million Americans who live with the disease.

Thank you for helping to make World Alzheimer's Month a tremendous success.

Many thanks,

Robert Egge
Vice President of Public Policy

Fwd: Good Morning, Charles

Jesus said; "I no longer call you servants,
because a servant does not know his
master's business. Instead, I have called
you friends, for everything that I learned
from my Father I have made known to you.
                ( John 15:15 *NIV )

Dear Charles,
"Oh, what a Friend we have in Jesus!"   A friend that is
always there for us no matter what!   A friend that loves,
comforts and guides us through out this life.   A friend that loved
us so much that HE gave HIS life to pay for our sins!   After all;
"For God so loved the world that he gave His
one and only Son, that whoever believes in
Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
                                        ( John 3:16 )

Now it is written; Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for his friends, and that
is exactly what Jesus did for  us!  ( John 15:13 )

So whenever you see the Cross, think about the tremendous
price that HE paid for all of us!   Why not stop right now and
thank HIM for all of the things HE has done for you as well.  Also
right about now, why not sing to yourself that beautiful old Hymn,
"What A Friend We Have In Jesus." For what a friend we have
indeed!!!   Amen.

Have a Wonderful Week, Charles, and please try not to sing
out of key like I do.  Ha Ha

Don't Put it Off

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it"
(Psalm 118:24, NIV)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

Many people are waiting for their circumstances to change in order to be happy and enjoy their lives. All the time I hear things like, "As soon as I get out of this problem, Joel, I'll be happy." "As soon as I lose ten pounds...as soon as my business grows...as soon as my child straightens up..." No, if you don't put your foot down and decide to be happy right now, there will always be something to keep you from being happy.

God never intended for us to put off our happiness. We have a choice to make each and every day. We have to set our minds in the right direction. That's why David said, "This is the day the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it." He was saying, "This is the day to be happy; not tomorrow, not when the weather clears up. Not next week, when I don't have to work so hard. Not next month, when I make it through this difficult time." No, choose to honor the Lord right now by choosing to enjoy your life. Get rid of the excuses and rejoice because this is the day that the Lord has made!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father God, thank You for this day. Thank You for another opportunity to sing Your praise. I choose to set my mind and heart on You. I choose to rejoice and be glad so that everything I do brings honor to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE

"Therefore, put on every piece of God's armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm."
(Ephesians 6:13, NLT)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God has fully equipped you today with everything you need to stand strong in the midst of any battle you may be facing. He's provided His full armor to protect your heart and mind, and empower you for victory! Ephesians 6:14–17 tells us about God's spiritual armor — He's given us the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith which stops the fiery darts of the enemy, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. You put on the armor by receiving the truth of His righteousness, peace, and salvation through His Word. When you do this, you are fully protected to resist the enemy and stand firm.

Remember, your battle is not against flesh and blood. People aren't the enemy. Your adversary is the devil. The good news is that God holds victory in store for the upright! As you put on His armor by faith you will be positioned to receive His victory all the days of your life!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father in heaven, thank You for equipping me with everything I need to live in victory in this life. I receive Your full armor by faith knowing that with You I can stand strong and overcome every obstacle. In Jesus' name, amen.
